My friend Laurie Riley took this picture from a paddle boat in the Ridgeway Reservoir which is in Ridgeway State Park in Ouray County, Colorado. The Mountain range in the background is the Cimmaron Range in the San Juan Mountains. This dramatic area is also called the Switzerland of America because of the rugged mountain range. I thought it was quite a dramatic shot. I really like the water against the mountains. I think it typifies the Colorado extremes.
This painting can be seen in person at EarthWood Collections Gallery in Estes Park, Colorado. It is featured in the Western Light exhibit.
